Additionally, he attended the Instituto Cervantes’ intensive Spanish course in New York City and earned a Level 5 TEFL certification from the International TEFL Academy.

Gavin has created success in the civilian and government sectors by understanding complex problems and creating simple, executable solutions. At Terminal 400 in Los Angeles, the largest commercial pier in North America, he cut the completion time of a major, multi-million-dollar maintenance project from eight to four weeks and supervised the first electrification-conversion of a diesel crane at the Ports of LA/Long Beach. In Trona, California, Gavin created RFP specifications and selected custom-made specialty pumps which reduced life-cycle costs by 80%. Subsequently, this company transitioned from government contracts only, to regularly being featured on television programs highlighting their private customers. In New York City, he led an order-to-delivery outreach and feedback program that resulted in a 27% decrease in damages while managing order growth of over 40%. Due to his success in manufacturing, logistics, and operations, Gavin was appointed to the position of Executive Director of Industrial Partnership with NYC’s Department of Small Business Services. This outward-facing role put him in touch with a myriad of stakeholders from small business owners to national politicians. In the renewable energy sector, he led the installation of a smart curtailment system designed to identify wildlife frequencies and shutdown localized equipment to reduce animal fatalities.
